The Private Investigators and Security Guards Act, 1997 requires individuals to hold a valid private investigators licence while employed by a licensed security business in Saskatchewan. The licence is only valid for that particular business.
Those seeking a private investigators licence must demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and all privacy laws. Applicants must show experience in conducting investigations.
No training course is required to apply for the license but employers may favour those with training and experience. We suggest our Ontario Private Investigator course to start.
